Allt Yr Afon Restaurant

The Allt Yr Afon is an intimate, fine dining restaurant with only six tables, open Wednesday – Saturday dinner. The resurrection of this local celebrated restaurant has seen it refurbished to the highest of standards. With its high ceilings, copper fittings and candlelight tables, it has allowed the Allt Yr Afon to maintain its timeless atmosphere while also bringing it into the new era.

The Chef

The reawakening of the Allt Yr Afon has been spearheaded by the newly appointed Head Chef Seb Smith, having joined us from his previous head chef position at Oakley Hall Hotel in Basingstoke.

A Neath lad through and through, Seb moved to the South of England to pursue his passion and career in hospitality. He has trained at some of the top hotels, from Stoke Park in Buckinghamshire to Great Fosters in Surrey. Bringing with him his dedication to quality food and excellent service, with the guest experience being at the forefront.

Seb’s signature tasting menu is all about bold flavours and clean presentation. It is a harmony and balance between modern and classic techniques, with the service to match.

“Fine dining should not just be for the affluent and elite, it should be accessible to all. I strive to provide outstanding food at a reasonable price, as food should be shared and enjoyed by all. It is one of the few things in life that connects every one of us and binds us to so many memories. A smell or taste can transport us back to any time or place.

For me it’s all about that central ingredient and then every other component elevating it off the plate. The product should speak for itself, quality is paramount and without it we have nothing. I want every one of my guests, from the first bite to the last, to leave with a smile on their face and new memories created and shared.”

The Menu

The Allt Yr Afon 6 course tasting menu by Seb Smith offers a beautiful and intimate dinner experience, in a warm inviting atmosphere. A journey all guests will enjoy and cherish from start to finish.

The menu is available Wednesday-Saturday evening at £75 per head, up to a maximum table size of 6. A wine flight with wine pairing is available at an additional £30 per person.
