choose a luxury spa break at the Wolfscastle Hotel in Pembrokeshire to really take time out

5 Reasons to Take a Luxury Spa Break in Pembrokeshire

In a busy world, getting away from it all to recharge our batteries is something we all need to do. Relaxation has some major health benefits, like lowering blood pressure, boosting your immune system and making you feel happier! While a normal holiday can be a great stress-buster, if you want to completely unwind, there’s nothing quite like a relaxing spa break in our peaceful little corner of Pembrokeshire, Wales. With the clean air, stunning scenery, great food and laid-back pace of life, you’ll be stress-free in no time at all!

Scenic Countryside Walks

Sparsely populated, Pembrokeshire is the ideal place to get out in the fresh air if you want a bit of peace and quiet and the chance to explore some spectacular scenery. Whether you fancy a tranquil saunter through ancient woodland, a walk along the famous Pembrokeshire Coast Path, or a more vigorous hike across the dramatic moorland of the Preseli Hills, you can roam for miles. As well as enjoying the landscape, you might also be lucky enough to spot some of the local wildlife – seals and dolphins can be the highlight of a clifftop walk; otters and kingfishers frequent the quiet riverbanks, while buzzards and red kites are commonly seen hovering over fields and hedgerows. There are some lovely walks with spectacular views that are easily accessible from Wolfscastle Country Hotel, so you can enjoy a wander into nature whenever the mood takes you.

Relaxing Retail Therapy

Our wild, remote landscape naturally inspires creativity and for many years Pembrokeshire has attracted artists and other craftspeople in droves, resulting in a rich arts and crafts heritage. Take a leisurely trip through the county towns and villages and you’ll find art galleries, cosy craft shops and bijou boutiques selling everything from traditionally-whittled love spoons and hand-thrown pottery to jewellery and contemporary paintings. Towns like Narberth or the tiny cathedral city of St Davids are good places to immerse yourself in the slower pace of life and indulge in a spot of relaxed retail therapy.

Discover the Pembrokeshire Coast

With almost 186 miles of coastline and over 50 beaches, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to exploring the seaside here in Pembrokeshire. With secluded pebbled coves, remote islands, towering cliffs and vast sandy beaches, it’s some of the most dramatic coastline in the world and, best of all, is rarely crowded, even in the summer. If a sunset stroll along a deserted beach is your idea of heaven, this is the place to be! We’re also famous for our clean seas and pure air which have long been thought to have curative health benefits and, it’s said, will help you enjoy one of the best night’s sleep you’ve ever had.

Quality Local Food and Drink

Of course, as well as getting out in the fresh air, taking care of yourself also means eating healthily. Nourishing your body with the best quality, natural foods is another way to give yourself a boost during your spa break – but don’t worry, healthy doesn’t have to mean boring! West Wales has some of the best fresh fish and seafood, meat, farm-fresh vegetables and award-winning artisan cheeses in the country and we take great pride in serving local produce in our Allt yr Afon Restaurant and Brasserie. The good news is that a little tipple now and again has also been proven to be good for your health – a great excuse to unwind with a nice glass of wine or local craft beer after a hard day’s strolling, shopping or pampering!

Obviously, the best way to relax on a spa break is by indulging in a range of luxurious treatments!
