As Pembrokeshire drags itself out of the dark evenings and mornings, we hope and pray that the weather will warm up. More enjoyable times are ahead, perfect for walks along the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline and stunning beaches.
At the Wolfscastle Country Hotel, we are having a great period in our history. We achieved ‘The Best Boutique Wedding Venue in Wales’ last November and have just been awarded another rosette by the AA. So, our Allt yr Afon restaurant is now recognised as a 3 AA rosette restaurant thanks to the hard work of the team, with Sebastian Smith at the helm in the kitchen. Seb worked at Stoke Park in their Michelin Star Restaurant as the Sous Chef before moving on as Head Chef to Oakley Hall. Recently he competed on the programme ‘Great British Menu’ which is due to be shown on TV in late February – exciting times!
Adama our head pastry Chef, who worked with Seb in Stoke Park and Oakley Hall, has been creating some amazing afternoon teas for upcoming Mother’s Day and Easter – which I strongly recommend you try. On Mother’s Day (30th March), we will be offering a luscious lunch, so come to Wolfscastle and pamper your lovely mothers! Easter Sunday 20th April, again we will be creating a bespoke lunch for you to come and enjoy.
In 2026 we will be celebrating 50 years since The Wolfscastle Country Hotel in Haverfordwest was changed from a house, offering 7 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, into the award-winning hotel and restaurant it is today, with a few twists and turns along the way. Interestingly, not one part of the ground floor at The Wolfscastle Hotel is exposed to the elements, having been built all the way around the property.
We will be holding monthly events at Wolfscastle involving celebrities, as well as fun evenings. Proceeds from these events will be raised through raffles, auctions, or a portion of the ticket sales. With this money, we will support charities such as Velindre Hospital, Paul Sartori and the Amani Children’s Home in Tanzania, a charity close to our hearts. Mandy, in her previous role as a secondary teacher, taught two children who went on to work at the home in 2007, witnessing the amazing work carried out to help destitute children. Also, my uncle was a doctor who became Minister of Health in Tanzania from 1970 to 1975.
So, an interesting 2 Years lie ahead of us, in which we look forward to seeing friends old and new return to enjoy our 3 rosette fine dining experience. We are so pleased to be named one of the best places to eat in the UK – let alone Wales or Pembrokeshire, by the AA.
