Celebrate our 40th anniversary and Andy’s book launch with us

We are excited to announce that this year we will be celebrating 40 wonderful years of the Wolfscastle Country Hotel and now you will be happy to hear we have announced a programme of events including the publication of a commemorative book and a series of special dinner evenings to mark the 40th anniversary of its opening.


Our four star hotel is celebrating four decades under the ownership of our very own Andrew Stirling who purchased the former Allt-yr-Afon vicarage in 1976, before transforming it into a hotel which first opened its doors on May 1st 1977.

To celebrate, Wolfscastle is hosting two 40th Anniversary celebration dinners on 18th and 19th May, which will also mark the release of Andrew Stirling’s debut book ‘My Life and Other Recipes.’

Pea and mint soup, with a crème fraiche twirl


Wild mushroom & asparagus risotto, crispy egg

Allt yr Afon ‘deluxe’ prawn cocktail


 Seared salmon, confit leeks, chive beurre blanc

– Sorbet –

Gin & tonic sorbet, lime & cucumber jelly

Slow cooked lamb, rosemary & red current jus, beetroot puree
Chicken breast coq au vin
Tempura vegetables, chilli & coriander jam, saffron aioli

All served with dauphinoise, mash, beans, cabbage & carrots served ensemble

Vanilla & blackberry cheesecake, apple sorbet
